The second Global Consultation on Migration Health (GCMH) will be held in Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, from February 21-23 to address the issues of all migrant categories and the health issue of refugees across the globe.

The consultation will be hosted by the Sri Lankan health ministry.

The issues related to health of migrant people has become critical for many countries, particularly in Europe, in recent days. There were several categories of migrants including unskilled migrant workers, those who migrated for educational purposes, and professionals who went overseas for better remuneration. Moreover, wars in different countries have forced many people to migrate to other countries. These people are prone various health complications resulting from their eating habits and working and living conditions.

More than 50 countries are expected to take part in the second GCMH. The first consultation was held in Madrid, Spain in 2010.
