EU, Bangladesh held joint commission meeting on Wednesday

Officials from the European Union and Bangladesh held their eight Joint Commission meeting in Brussels on July 12, during which they discussed, among other issues, development cooperation, migration and labor rights, the European Union’s external mission said in a statement on Thursday.

“The European Union and Bangladesh exchanged views on key directions for the development cooperation agenda for 2018-2020, notably in the areas of education and skills development, public financial management, and support to social safety nets,” the statement read.

The Joint Commission was held in “a constructive atmosphere” and covered a wide range of issues, including human rights, migration, trade and investment and labor rights, according to the statement.
