The Cabinet expansion was stalled on Tuesday after the ruling Nepali Congress failed to finalise names of its ministers.

According to NC sources, Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba failed to expand his Cabinet following dispute over sharing ministerial berths among top leaders of the party including senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel, leaders Krishna Prasad Sitaula and Khum Bahadur Khadka.

PM Deuba on Monday had told that the Cabinet would be expanded by Tuesday.

Despite homework since this morning, the party failed to finalise names of its ministers to be inducted in Deuba-led Cabinet.

Cabinet expansion only tomorrow: Nidhi

Meanwhile, party leader Binalendra Nidhi said that the Cabinet would be expanded only tomorrow.

He said 18 ministers— nine from NC, six from CPN-Maoist Centre, two from Nepal Loktantrik Forum and one from CPN (Unified) — would be inducted in the Deuba-led government tomorrow (Wednesday).
