Indian army officers, on November 7, briefed the defence and military attaches of various countries posted in Delhi about the “global and regional security scenario” and India’s “security concerns”, amid rising tensions along the border with Pakistan. However,  no representative from Pakistan was invited to the meet.

Lt Gen Bipin Rawat, Vice Chief of the Army Staff, spoke about “global and regional security scenario and India’s security concerns”. Later, during an interaction, the attaches also shared their views on the security issues and how they have been impacted.

Defence diplomacy has emerged as a powerful tool in the present environment where the armed forces of the world stand united fighting common enemies and challenges.
